Nannies Give Back: The Wings of Aloha Program

All-Star Happy Kids Nanny, Peggy

All-Star Happy Kids Nanny, Peggy

The Maui Humane Society receives 700-800 animals every month. The majority of them are adoptable, but Maui doesn’t have enough homes for all of them. One of our all-star nannies, Peggy, volunteers at the Maui Humane Society. She recently flew with Tucker, Storm and Mabel, through the Wings of Aloha program, to deliver them to Tender Care Animal Rescue in Portland, OR. Through the Wings of Aloha program, animals are able to fly to mainland rescues where adoption is guaranteed and overpopulation is not a problem.

By opening up more space, Peggy also made it possible for other pets to stay at the Maui Humane Society. Without the help of compassionate volunteers like Peggy, these dogs would most likely never find forever homes. Every time animals fly on an airplane, they need a human chaperone. Wings of Aloha relies on volunteers already traveling to partner destinations.

This program gives adoptable animals a second chance at a long and happy life. Happy Kids nannies love children, animals and their community. Mahalo Peggy for giving back to our community and for sharing the Aloha spirit with all you meet, pets, children and parents alike!
